Candidates will be shortlisted against the GP person specification and notified of the outcome within 10 days of the closing date.
Interviews will be held on a particular day, all in one go. Shortlisted candidates will be notified. The interview will include a practical assessment of clinical assessment and interpersonal skills.
Language skills will also be assessed at interview. The need for further language tests to be identified on a case by case basis.
It is mandatory for successful candidates to have CRB clearance before they can begin working with the OOHs service. If the candidate can evidence CRB clearance dated within the last 3 months of start date, CNCS will not require the candidate to have another CRB check. Costs of the CRB check are to be met by the applicant.
Candidates will also be required to undertake an occupational health assessment with our occupational health department and clearance is mandatory for all successful candidates.
Inductions, like the interviews, will be held on a particular day, in a group wherever possible. Inductions will be conducted by members of the Out of Hours Management team.
At Induction, before commencement date, all GPs must submit the documentation required in order to sign off the Sessional GP Personnel File Checklist form. This includes such things as ID, PCT Performers List, MDU, GMC, mandatory training undertaken etc.
